Errington World Music Youth Camp

Presented by the Errington War Memorial Hall Association

Have fun learning music and dances from Africa and Brazil for one or two weeks at the 7th annual Errington World Music Camp starting August 8. All instruments are provided. There are just a few spaces left so don’t miss out!

Beginners age 8 and up who are new to marimba and drumming are encouraged to take the program in Week One from August 8-12. The program includes African marimba songs, gum boot dancing, and Brazilian samba percussion and movement. Participants who complete Week One and are at least 10 years old are eligible to attend Week Two.

Young musicians age 10 and up with prior experience are invited to take Week Two from August 15-19. Participants will compose their own marimba songs, play traditional West African rhythms in a drum circle, and learn dances especially choreographed for the camp by instructor Nadjema Soro.

Each week ends with an evening recital for family and friends at the Errington Hall. Following the second week's recital, Kumbana Marimba will play a free dance for all camp participants and their guests.
